The pros and cons of crimp vs screw top vials
Naturally, choice is up to the end user and instrument requirements. Some instruments require magnetic seals, and unless there has been a recent introduction of a magnetic screw cap vial in a 1-2mL volume, crimp vials would be required. As for sealing properties, if sealed properly, I see no advantage of one over the other. See more results
Why use Screw vials over Crimp vials? - Chromatography Forum
I have found that using screw caps is far easier and just as fast in terms of capping, uncapping and recapping for both 2ml vials and 22ml SPME headspace vials.. I found that efficacy is just as good providing that you use the correct septa and certainly overcomes potential errors introduced by incorrect crimping.
